Welcome to THE SLOW BURN'S home on the web!
THE SLOW BURN is melodic rock with an edge, for a generation raised on great songwriting and punk attitude, spanning the chasms from John Lennon to Kurt Cobain, Bob Marley to Matthew Sweet, Joe Strummer to Jeff Tweedy.
======================
While The Slow Burn has been out of the limelight for a goodly long while, we have not been idle! As you may recall, founding members Paul D'Andrea (guitar) and Dale Juarbe (drums) left the band last Summer. (Henceforward, Paul and Dale will be known as Slowburnus Emeritus.)
After an appropriate period of mourning, we went about the business of finding replacements and were very fortunate to quickly find two extraordinary musicians to fill their large shoes - Doug Ginsburg on guitar and Alan Yellowitz on drums (see below for bios).
We are very excited for our first public gig with our new lineup at JVs!

Bios of our new members:
Doug Ginsburg - Lead Guitar/Blues Harp: Doug has been playing guitar for several decades, and came of musical age listening to the great Long Island cover bands of the late 1970’s. After playing in numerous orchestras and jazz bands, he went through periods of playing with bluegrass and old time music bands, as well as classical guitar. But since then he has returned to his roots of playing what is now called “classic” rock as well as blues, and has played in various Northern Virginia bands.
Alan Yellowitz - Drums/Percussion: Alan Yellowitz was born in Washington DC, and raised in Bethesda, MD. His love for music, specifically drums, began in elementary school. After getting his first drum set at age 11, Alan was hooked. His experience has evolved from school bands and basement jams, to his most current band, which recently broke up after 18 years. Much of his inspiration came from the greats like Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham, Neil Peart, Efrain Toro, Pancho Sanchez, Max Roach and Vinnie Colaiuta.
